In this special in school report we will discuss what we're doing in school right now. At this moment 5B is working on publishing 4 poems to our teacher's blog (Burke's Beatniks). Since I already posted mine I decided to write a new post telling what we're doing and to give you my 4 poems that I wrote. You can see them at the end of this edition.
In other school events the 5th grade is tie dying today. They had rubber banded shirts a week before and was originally going to tie die them last Friday, but sadly it rained, so the rain date was Tuesday. It will be an interesting experience considering that there are 72 students tie dying at once.
No more school news for now but if you read the Early Bird edition you know that there will be a report after Amanda's graduation part and after Jason's actual graduation.
Now here are my 4 poems!!
Space
I hear a whisper
Space is the whisper
I realize I can't
Comprehend I can't
I don't know much
The stuff I know
Isn't much
When I compare space
The dark open space
To me I'm small
Big and to me
small
My Mind
When I have an idea
I won't let it go
I'll hold onto it like a
Balloon
The wind never
Tearing us
a p a r t
People encourage change
But I DISAGREE
But, when I do
Let go of my
Balloon
A new world of
Possibilities
Comes into grasp
The Tree
A tree is part of nature
It is and always will be
Except if we cut them all down
For our own
Necessities
We'd have what we like
But we would be missing
One crucial gift
The gift of air
The gift the tree promises
Smile Earth Smile
The earth so true
As true as can be
But how few
Take care of it
The way it should be
We pollute
We throw away
Things we used just once
Only yesterday
If we would be green
How the earth would be
So happy
It would smile
Give thanks
We would make it so happy
The earth that we live on
The only one we know
We take care of it
By ourselves
And it will never
GO
